About us

The Facilitation Company is a premier global facilitation firm specialising in Fundraising, Strategy, and special situations.

Our two decades of experience facilitating strategy, fundraising, and special situations have helped us develop an approach across four categories: Strategy, Fundraising, Special Situations, and Family Office governance.

Operating in Europe and Africa, we focus on the commercial, non-profit, and family office sectors.

In doing so, we apply value-oriented, human-centred strategies to our facilitation role. With experience in 21 cities globally, The Facilitation Company is renowned for its event and process facilitation in special situations.

Our offices are in Johannesburg and Amsterdam.

Nicholas "Mallet" Mokobane

Founder & Team Principal

Nicholas "Mallet" Mokobane is the founder and Team Principal of The Fundraising Company, originally founded as Ideas Imagine in 2014. As lead facilitator, he sets the company's overall direction and strategy.

Nick is a dual Dutch–South African national who feels at home in both Limpopo and Tilburg. Born in South Africa, he came of age in New Zealand and found his calling in Holland. He studied Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand as an undergraduate, before pursuing an Executive MBA at Tilburg University's TIAS School for Business and Society.

His capstone thesis, "Value Investing for Generational Wealth: A Strategic Framework for a South African Family Office," earned an 8.0 from Prof. dr. Alfred Slager, Professor of Institutional Investments at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and former Professor of Pension Fund Management at TIAS School for Business and Society, Tilburg University. Slager is also a non-executive board member at pension fund ABP, Europe's largest pension fund by AUM.

Nick has been a lifelong entrepreneur and intrapreneur, focusing his work on driving real-world impact.
